How it all began
LiveLife Alarms started with two friends, Phil Mathieson and Pete Morris, who saw the need for personal alarms that worked anywhere — not just at home. What began as a small idea is now a thriving company in Toronto, Lake Macquarie, with over 70 dedicated team members handling everything from programming to customer care. Together, we help older Australians and people with disabilities live safely, independently, and with peace of mind.

Phil Mathieson
Before co-founding LiveLife Alarms, I spent 17 years as an Officer-Navigator in the Royal Australian Air Force, serving primarily as a Tactical Coordinator on P-3 Orions with No. 10 Squadron. My career took me all over the world, from Australia’s intervention in East Timor to postings at Joint Forces Headquarters, the Australian Joint Intelligence Centre, and Air Force Headquarters. That experience gave me a deep understanding of navigation, search & rescue, and GPS systems—skills that now shape the design and reliability of every LiveLife product. I’m a certified Search & Rescue Coordinator and recipient of the Rockwell Navigation Accuracy Award, with hands-on expertise in satellite navigation, GPS tracking, mission planning, and performance assessment. Today, I live in Lake Macquarie — not in the lake, thankfully, but nearby — with my wife and two children. I’m proud to apply my technical background to a cause that genuinely matters—helping older Australians and people with disabilities stay safe and independent. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team who share that mission every day.
Pete Morris
Pete Morris has 20 years experience in communication architecture and interface design. Pete has designed many interfaces for software and web based applications both in Australia and the US. A winner of international design awards for interface design and usability, Pete strives to improve LiveLife’s products to make them easier to use and tailored to seniors and their family members. Pete likes to be hands on so personally designs all of LiveLife’s instruction manuals with the goal of making our alarms the easiest personal alarms to install and use. He focuses on making the technology as user friendly and straight forward as possible. He works with the product engineers to make improvements to the features of our alarms based on customer feedback and research. Together, Phil and Pete built LiveLife Alarms around a simple belief — that everyone should Live the life they deserve, feeling safe, supported, and connected, no matter where life takes them.
