General
Basic information about the LiveLife Mobile Alarm
What is the LiveLife Mobile Alarm?
The LiveLife 4GX Mobile Alarm provides you and your family peace of
mind that help is just a press of a button away—whether you're at home or out in the
community. It works wherever there is mobile network coverage in Australia. When you
press the SOS button, it texts a help message with your location on Google Maps,
then starts calling up to 6 emergency contacts one by one (000 can be included). It
features inbuilt fall detection, a smart voice guide that talks you through
emergencies, and allows family and friends to call the alarm to speak with the
wearer. The alarm is showerproof and incredibly simple to use.
Does it work with a monitoring or call centre?
No. You choose up to 6 emergency contacts which are usually trusted
family members and friends. You can even include 000 as a contact if you wish.
Because it does not require a monitoring centre, there are no ongoing monitoring
charges or monthly fees. You don't have to use all 6 emergency contacts—you can use
fewer if you prefer.
Is this alarm only for the elderly living at home alone?
While it's ideal for seniors living at home alone who remain active
enough to be outdoors unaccompanied, it's also perfect for seniors without a
landline. Many connected to the NBN have had their phone services switched to VOIP
and can no longer use landline-type medical alarms without additional wiring costs.
Besides seniors, it's used by lone workers, workers who need to contact security
quickly, and people with disabilities.
What's different with the 2025 model?
The new 2025 model comes with updated hardware and software,
featuring improved battery life and antenna design. We've enhanced the waterproof
capability and made numerous behind-the-scenes updates including new SMS commands,
improved text message formatting, enhanced mobile network support, algorithm
improvements, ability to change voice files over the air, improved interoperability
with the supplied beacon, and more.
Can I use a LiveLife Alarm if I have a pacemaker?
If you have a pacemaker, you may not be able to wear your LiveLife
Alarm around your neck on the lanyard due to possible interference. Instead, you
could wear it on the wristband or clothing clip provided, or enquire about the
LiveLife Mobile Watch. If you have any concerns, we recommend consulting your
doctor.
Features & Design
Details about size, weight, and functionality
How big is it?
The pendant is a perfect size at 61mm tall, 42mm wide, and 16mm
thick. It's lightweight, weighing about the same as three 20 cent pieces.
Is it heavy or uncomfortable to wear?
The pendant has a soft, rubber-like outer skin which is easy to
grip. It weighs only 42 grams. You can put it on your favourite chain or key ring.
It comes with an adjustable safety lanyard (anti-choking), a belt clip, and a sleek
adjustable wristband giving you plenty of wearing options.
What happens if it gets wet?
The pendant is water resistant, so you can wear it in the shower or
rain. However, it should not be immersed in water—avoid baths, spas, pools, or the
ocean.
Does it come in other colours besides black?
Currently the LiveLife mobile alarm comes in charcoal black or
pearl white.
Why doesn't it have a screen or keypad like a mobile phone?
The pendant is designed to be small, simple to use, and
lightweight. It operates primarily as an emergency alert system and location device,
which doesn't require a screen or keyboard. It can be programmed by sending text
messages to it. LCD screens also drain battery life and the text would be too small
to read for many people.
Is it easy to accidentally make a help call?
The SOS button is recessed making it hard to press accidentally. To
activate the help calling sequence, the button must be clicked or pressed. It will
vibrate and a voice will announce 'Your mobile alarm has been activated. Click the
SOS button to cancel the call sequence.' This smart voice guide repeats twice,
giving you time to cancel before emergency texts and calls begin.
Do the voice prompts come in different languages?
Yes! Voice alerts are available in 16 languages: English (default),
Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Italian, Greek, Urdu, Spanish, Portuguese,
Japanese, Hindi, German, French, Filipino, and Arabic. All voice alerts are crystal
clear and have been pre-recorded by native vocal artists.
Mobile Network
Coverage and connectivity information
Do you have to connect it to the mobile phone network?
Yes. Because it works like a mobile phone, it needs to be connected
to the mobile network. As part of your purchase, we install an activated Telstra SIM
card. The Mobile Alarm is not locked to any specific provider. If during our
coverage check the coverage appears inadequate, we'll discuss your options. In most
locations there will be good Telstra coverage. We'll check your address on coverage
maps to advise you on your best option.
Is it expensive to use on the mobile phone network?
No. Your first year's use on the Telstra Mobile Network is included
in the purchase price. A recharge/subscription is required annually after the first
year. The device is to be used as an emergency device and falls under our Fair Use
Policy.
What happens if the person wearing the pendant is in an area without 4G coverage?
For the Mobile Alarm to perform its functions, the wearer must be
in an area with sufficient mobile coverage on the Telstra Mobile Network. The 4GX
LiveLife Alarm primarily uses the 4GX (extended range 4G – Band 28) network. If
that's not available, it will try 4G (Band 3), and if that's not available, it can
use 3G. Before we deliver your Mobile Alarm, we'll do a coverage check of your
address.
Fall Detection & GPS
Safety features and location tracking
How does the fall detection feature work?
The pendant has a built-in fall detection feature designed to
detect unbroken falls or falls likely to result in unconsciousness. It measures the
impact, angle, and speed of a fall. When detected, the pendant announces 'Fall has
been detected, click the SOS button to cancel the fall alert sequence.' This repeats
twice before sending alert texts and calling emergency contacts. Fall detection can
be adjusted for sensitivity or turned off via text command. Note: It may not detect
falls that are blocked by objects, braced falls, or slow slumps to the floor.
Can I turn off fall detection if I decide to?
Yes. Fall detection is an optional feature that we can turn off
during setup—it's on by default. You can request it off when we discuss your order,
or turn it off later by sending a simple text command from a mobile phone. If you
find the fall alert is triggering too easily, you can adjust the sensitivity
settings.
How do you use the built-in GPS features?
The Mobile Alarm connects to GPS satellites to establish its exact
location and also uses WiFi positioning in built-up areas. When you press the SOS
button, it sends each mobile contact a text message with a Google Maps link showing
your location. Anyone knowing the pendant's mobile number can send a location
command via text and receive a reply showing its location on Google Maps.
Communication
Calling, contacts, and voice features
Can you talk and listen through the pendant to the calls?
Yes. The pendant has a built-in microphone and speakerphone so you
can talk hands-free. The sound is clear and high quality. When a help call is
answered, it goes automatically into speakerphone mode. Pressing the SOS button
again ends the call and the rest of the call sequence.
Can I change the 6 emergency contact numbers later?
Yes. You can easily change any contact numbers by sending a command
via text message to the pendant's mobile number. Simple instructions are included
with the Quick Start Guide and on our website.
Can the alarm call mobile numbers and landline numbers?
Yes. Your emergency contacts can include any combination of mobiles
or landlines. However, landline numbers won't receive the help text message or
Google Maps location—that's why we recommend mobile numbers when possible. Some
landlines with text-to-voice message banks may convert the text to a voice message.
Can it call 000 in an emergency?
Yes. You can include 000 as one of your emergency contacts. Please
note that 000 won't receive the text message or Google Maps location. However, we'll
upload the wearer's name and address to the emergency services database
corresponding to your pendant's mobile number. We recommend having a family member
as the first contact, with 000 typically as the last contact.
How hard is it for an elderly person to hear the call through the pendant?
The pendant contains a speaker with clear, loud, high-quality
sound. When a help call is answered, the wearer can talk to the other person like on
a normal mobile phone call. The volume can be adjusted using the up and down buttons
on the side of the alarm.
Battery & Charging
Power management and recharging
Do you have to charge it often?
When the battery drops to 20% (after 4-5 days depending on use), a
voice announces 'Your battery is low. Please recharge your battery.' Simply pop it
into the charging station until the red light stays steady. The alarm will announce
'Your mobile alarm is charging.' If the wearer forgets, a low battery warning text
is sent to contact number 1 when battery drops to 10%. The battery lasts 4-5 days at
home and 24-48 hours when worn away from home continuously.
What kind of battery does it have?
It contains a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery just like a normal
mobile phone. Because it doesn't have a screen, it uses less power. When delivered,
it will be in power saving mode. Simply plug in the charging station, turn on the
alarm with the top side call button, and you're ready to go. The charging station
also has a lithium ion battery that holds power for 24+ hours.
How do I know if my parent's battery has gone flat?
By default, we turn on a 'Low battery warning' feature that sends a
text message to the first contact when battery falls below 10%. You can then contact
the wearer or call the pendant directly. You can turn off low battery warnings by
sending 'LOW0' to the pendant. You can also text 'battery' to the pendant and it
will reply with the current charge level.
A low battery voice alert woke me up at night. How can I stop that?
You can set up a Do Not Disturb period. Send this text to your
pendant: 'ND1,21:00,07:00' (means low battery alerts won't announce between 9 PM and
7 AM). As of March 2025, all pendants are sent with Do Not Disturb set by default
between 10 PM and 7 AM—no low battery alerts or calls from unknown numbers during
this time, but emergency contacts can still call. To disable, send 'ND0' to your
pendant.
Setup & Configuration
Pre-delivery setup and programming
What does the pre-delivery setup include?
The LiveLife Mobile Alarm requires extensive setup including:
Coverage checks on the Telstra Mobile Network, supply/activation/installation and
testing of the Telstra SIM card, allocating the first year's network use,
pre-programming of up to six emergency contacts and the help text message, and
turning on optional features like fall detection, listen-in, and geo-fencing
(anti-wandering).
Do you have to put a SIM card inside it and have a mobile phone account?
The Mobile Alarm operates on the mobile network just like a mobile
phone, so a SIM card must be installed and activated. As part of setup, we install a
Mobile SIM card using the full Telstra Network. We'll allocate your first year's
usage for unlimited emergency texts and voice calls, and supply you with the mobile
phone number assigned to your pendant.
How do I keep track of the prepaid credit and buy more before it runs out?
With our Telstra SIM card, you don't need to check or worry about
prepaid credit. Your first year of usage is included in the purchase price. A
recharge/subscription of $90 per year applies after the first year under our Fair
Use Policy.
Ordering & Delivery
Shipping, payments, and returns
Is there any delivery or shipping fees?
The cost of setup and delivery is included in the price. Your
Mobile Alarm will be sent via Express Post.
Are my credit card details safe when I buy this alarm online?

card transactions. eWAY processes transactions for tens of thousands of Australian
merchants, providing a safe and secure means of collecting payments via the
Internet. All credit card transactions are secured payments.
Once I have ordered, how long till it arrives?
Your Mobile Alarm will be sent via Australia Post Express Post.
Delivery time depends on your location. Once shipped, you can track your delivery
via Australia Post's website. We endeavour to send your Mobile Alarm within 2-3
business days after receiving programming information from you.
Is there a refund & return policy on this alarm?
Yes, there is a 30-day return and refund policy on the Mobile
Alarm.
What happens if I can't get a strong enough signal in my home?
Before we setup and deliver your Mobile Alarm, we do a coverage
check of the Telstra Mobile Network at your address. If coverage appears inadequate,
we'll advise you on other options. Note that coverage maps aren't always 100%
accurate and black spots can occur. If a black spot is only discovered when testing
the alarm at home, our refund and returns policy applies.
What kind of warranty does it come with?
The LiveLife mobile alarm comes with a 12-month warranty.
